What is a Powerflush?
Power flushing is a technique used to clear sludge from central heating system pipes, radiators, coils and heat exchangers. These are areas where scale and corrosion can collect, the symptoms are usually:
-
Cold spots on radiators, even after bleeding
-
Takes a long time for radiators to warm up
-
Noisy boiler
-
Boiler regularly shuts down and needs restarting
-
Small leaks in radiators
-
Discoloured water when you bleed the radiators
-
Heating is slow to warm up
-
Radiators needing regular bleeding
-
Inefficient central heating system
What Are the Benefits of a Powerflush?
The benefits of a clean heating system are well-documented:
-
more even heat distribution throughout the property
-
Radiators will heat up quicker
-
Quieter radiators / boiler
-
improved overall energy savings
-
lower household bills
-
increased system reliability
-
extended system life
At LBI Heating we use the latest technologies to perform power flush efficiently and thoroughly from only £200. We believe that a successful power flushing is derived from moving water as fast as possible through a heating system to move and transport the debris to a point where it can be forcibly discharged.
These contaminants, if left, can seriously affect the efficiency of a heating system and, in severe cases, a powerflush could be the only option available. Over time the water in your pipes, boiler and radiators deposits unwanted byproducts like rust. This rust (plus other dirt and debris) becomes an unpleasant, mud-like substance that professionals affectionately refer to as ‘sludge’.
Sludge in your heating system can cause to blockages and corrosion which will lead to both inefficiency and / or breakdown. In extreme cases it can be so damaging that a complete boiler replacement is needed.
